Dewey Bartlett

NSWA President

Keener Oil & Gas Company | Tulsa, OK

How long have you been a member of NSWA?

I have served on the NSWA Board of Directors since 2004.

Dewey’s Motto:

Be a good listener.

When did you begin your career in the oil industry?

I started my oil career in 1965 working a summer job as a laborer at DX Refinery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have been working in different aspects of the oil industry ever since.

Tell us about your company.

Through my role as President of Keener Oil & Gas Company, I continue the family tradition of working in the oil and gas business. After graduating in 1969 with a B.S. degree in Accounting from Regis College in Denver, I went on in 1971 to receive an MBA degree in Finance from SMU in Dallas. I then worked in the oil fields for Halliburton Services and spent two years as a Landman for Beard Oil Company.

I joined Keener Oil Company (a prior Bartlett family business partnership) as a Landman and Co-Managing Partner in 1979. In 1987, I became Managing Partner of Keener Oil Company. Keener Oil Company was dissolved in 1994, and in May of that same year I formed Keener Oil & Gas Company, an Oklahoma corporation.
