US Senator Jim Inhofe (R- OK) has submitted a letter to the Department of Commerce, signed by nine other oil and gas state U.S. Senators, asking them to begin investigating anti-dumping actions against Saudi Arabia and Russia. This action is a critical step in restoring our nation’s oil prices to a stable level. Senator Inhofe was joined by Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS), Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD), Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND), and Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK). You can view the entire letter here.
The letter points out how Saudi Arabia and Russia are flooding the oil market with unprecedented amounts of oil and how this manipulation of the markets has caused severe trauma to the American energy industry. These are uncertain times, and smaller oil and gas producers are doing what we can to stay in business, despite the lowest prices we have seen in years. Many small operators won’t survive if these record low prices continue, thus, we will see thousands upon thousands of industry layoffs. Our industry and our country cannot afford this major hit to our country’s infrastructure.
With your help, we can amplify this request through your elected officials and ensure this is made a top priority at the Department of Commerce. Please see a sample letter below that you can personalize and submit to your state’s U.S. Senators. Find your senator’s contact information here.

Subject: Stabilize Oil Prices
Dear Senator [NAME],
As you consider legislation to support Americans during this time, I am writing to urge you to join your fellow Senators in asking the Department of Commerce to begin investigating anti-dumping actions against Saudi Arabia and Russia.
I am a small producer in the oil and gas industry and we have seen oil prices drop drastically in recent weeks. These oil prices are not sustainable for my small business and action must be taken to help save tens of thousands of jobs in our industry across the country.
Please add your signature to the letter Senator Inhofe has submitted to Secretary Ross at the Department of Commerce regarding this issue and the need to get involved.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
