NSWA Representatives from Oklahoma and Kansas met with members of Congress during the Washington, D.C. Fly-In held September 26-27. Darlene Wallace, Columbus Oil, Mike Cantrell, Cantrell Investments, and Nick Powell, Colt Energy attended various meetings and developed key relationships with Members on the Hill.
Attendees strengthened relationships with many Legislators including Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX), Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS), Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), Congressman Peter Roskam (R-IL) and other members of the U.S. Congress, as well as House and Senate staff.
Fly-in participants emphasized the importance of percentage depletion in the oil and gas industry, and had in-depth conversations of what it would look like if percentage depletion was taken away, as well as discussed issues regarding methane. While the outlook of the oil and natural gas industry is positive right now, there is still plenty of progress we can make to ensure the success of the industry.
