Texas Economy Expected To Continue Growing In 2014

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas forecasts the Texas economy to continue growing at a moderate rate this year, but it still will outpace most other states.

Texas employment grew 2.5 percent last year, down from 3.3 percent in 2012, but higher than the national average.

Growth in most Texas industries, including energy, construction, manufacturing and financial services, slowed last year from 2012 — exacerbated by federal spending cuts. Even so, it was the third fastest-growing state in 2013, after North Dakota and Florida.
