Ward Petroleum announces David J. Stone as the new vice president of exploration, responsible for creating the opportunities to allow Ward to grow and continue to be competitive in today’s changing energy industry. Ward Petroleum currently ranks 87th in oil production for U.S.-based private companies.
“Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and a healthy perspective to our experienced team.” said Bill Ward, president and CEO. “His expertise and leadership will be an asset to Ward Petroleum.”
Stone, former Marathon Oil North America exploration director, retired after 31 years. During his tenure, he was instrumental in leading them into the Williston Basin Bakken Shale Play, the Anadarko Basin Woodford Shale Play, and several other conventional and resource plays across North America through its highly successful North America exploration program.
Stone began his career in 1980, joining Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, OK, after having received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and his masters of science degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Ward Petroleum is an active independent energy company founded in 1963, with offices in Ft. Collins, CO; and Enid and Oklahoma City, OK.
